Morocolor

Crayons with plastic sheets are intended to keep little children and their surrounding world clean while playfully discovering the world of art. But let´s face it: with their edgy, tiny and fiddly mechanism which is difficult to handle, even for patient adult hands, these crayons are anything but fun. The drawing experience is clumsy, the crayon bars break, with their remains scattered around.
Together with Morocolor, an Italian specialist for colors and crayons, we decided to bring some fresh thinking to the issue: a padded rubber sleeve both fixates the crayon and provides a grip zone for the fingers. When the crayon runs too short, it is simply slided forward – an all natural and obvious handling.

Eigentlich sind Hülsen-Kreiden für kleine Kinder gedacht und sollen Hände und Umgebung sauber halten. Aber mal ehrlich: Mit ihrem kleinteiligen, auch für Erwachsene umständlichen Mechanismus und mit ihrem recht klobigen Malgefühl und abbrechenden Kreideresten machen diese Produkte nicht wirklich Spaß. 
Mit dem italienischen Farb- und Kreidespezialisten Morocolor haben wir das Thema deshalb einmal aus einer anderen Perspektive beleuchtet. Ein dicker Gummiring dient als Griffzone und hält zugleich unter dem Druck der Finger die Kreide fest. Das ergibt ein direktes Griffgefühl wie bei einer Kreide ohne Hülse – nur halt mit sauberen Fingern. Ist die Kreide zu kurz, wird sie einfach weitergeschoben.
